Home Decor Tips

Whether you just want a decor refresh or are moving into a new house, trying to craft the home of your dreams may feel like a daunting task without the help of an expert Interior Designer, but today I will share with you my proven decor tricks that will help you upgrade your space like a designer. I will show you how to decorate your home in a snap without breaking the bank and for sure your friends are going to think you hired an expert. So lets get started :

TIP #1 : Hang curtains closer to the ceiling to create the illusion of large windows and higher ceilings.

TIP #2: Mirrors give the illusion of space, but always make sure to place them facing an appealing view, like your garden, a fireplace, or beautiful wall decor.

TIP #3: Make sure the rugs you choose contain colors that match either your sofa cushions or the decor accents on your coffee table. Never get a rug that is exactly the same color as your sofas, so in that way both elements highlight their unique importance. Most importantly all sofas must "sit" on the rug, so never place a rug smaller than the size of the sitting area.

TIP #4: Declutter your tables and countertops. Remember less is more and that simplicity is the soul of modern elegance.

TIP #5: Make sure the center table in your living room is not too small. Yes, too small to reach a glass in case you're entertaining.

TIP #6: You can get affordable furniture and then upgraded with high end knobs and stylish cushions. This will add cosiness to your space.

TIP #7: Try to hide annoying wires. You can always get this affordable kit that can help you do this in a snap.

TIP #8: Lived up ordinary spaces with wall paper. It could be in areas where you enjoy spending time.

TIP #9: Paint ceilings in a lighter color than walls and choose the same tone of walls for all the house, unless you have an specific wall you would like to add accent to.

TIP #10: Don't be afraid of DIY projects! All famous designers are self-taught, so remember to "Fake it 'till you make it!"
